MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

Character Determines Membership

Membership of EKLEKTOS is never determined by wealth, influence or professional success alone.

Achievement may begin the conversation.

Character determines the outcome.

Every prospective Member is considered for what they have accomplished, how they conduct themselves and what they could contribute to the institution.

I

EXCEPTIONAL INDIVIDUALS

Different worlds. Shared standards.

EKLEKTOS has not been established for a particular profession, industry or nationality.

Members may include

  • Family Office Principals
    Stewardship and legacy.
  • Founders & Entrepreneurs
    Vision and enterprise.
  • Investors
    Capital and opportunity.
  • Business Leaders
    Leadership and governance.

They are not united by profession, background or worldview.

They are united by the standards of character expected within EKLEKTOS.

II

ELIGIBILITY

Wealth is relevant. It is never sufficient.

Members will ordinarily possess the experience, influence and resources to contribute meaningfully to the institution.

As a general guide, Members will typically have a verifiable net worth of £100 million or more.

This is not an absolute requirement.

The Founding Assembly may invite exceptional individuals whose achievement, leadership, influence or contribution places them among the foremost figures in their field.

Wealth may create opportunity. It never guarantees Membership.

III

CHARACTER ABOVE ALL ELSE

The qualities we value.

  • Integrity
    Acting honestly and honourably.
  • Curiosity
Remaining open to different people, ideas and perspectives.
  • Humility
Listening, respecting others and having nothing to prove.
  • Excellence
    Holding oneself to exceptional standards.
  • Generosity
    Sharing knowledge, opportunity and time.
  • Stewardship
Protecting what has been entrusted to us.
  • Long-Term Thinking
Creating enduring value beyond immediate advantage.

EKLEKTOS does not require Members to think alike.

Different cultures, beliefs, experiences and perspectives strengthen the institution.

What matters is the character with which those differences are expressed.

IV

THE MEMBERSHIP JOURNEY

Invitation only.

Membership cannot be applied for.

Prospective Members are identified through existing Members, trusted relationships and carefully considered introductions.

Each individual is considered holistically against the Membership Criteria and the long‑term interests of EKLEKTOS.

An invitation is extended only when there is confidence that the individual will strengthen the institution.

Invitation cannot be purchased or accelerated through wealth or influence.

V

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BELONGING

Membership carries obligations as well as privileges.

Every Member influences the culture of EKLEKTOS.

Members are therefore expected to respect the privacy of others, protect the trust of the institution, contribute where they can and engage with fellow Members without unsolicited commercial agendas.

Belonging should create value in both directions.

CLOSING

Membership is a privilege.

EKLEKTOS will never be defined simply by the wealth, fame or achievements of the people within it.

It will be defined by their character.

By how they treat one another.

By what they contribute.

And by what they leave for those who follow.
